Melchiode Marks King wishes to express its condolences to the family and loved ones of John Galloway, a true titan of the New Orleans legal community who passed away on July 15, 2026. The founding members of MMK will forever be grateful for John’s tutelage and mentorship. Before the concept of “professionalism” was formalized in legal practice, young lawyers were simply told to “just do what John Galloway would do”. While John was respected for his keen legal skills and intellect, he was revered for his generosity with his time and thoughtful advice. In a profession rife with competition and big egos, John was a stunning example of a skilled litigator universally liked and admired. To paraphrase the old EF Hutton commercial, when John Galloway spoke, people listened. A natural storyteller, John’s soft-spoken delivery and sense of humor were legendary. John’s effervescent wife, Blanche, preceded him in death by a mere three months. They are together in heaven now, hosting a cocktail party and telling jokes that are making angels blush.
