Profile

Bio:

Matthew has practiced law in and around the greater New Orleans area for the last twenty-four years. Prior to joining MMK, Matt’s legal career began with service as an Assistant District Attorney for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, trying over 100 judge and jury trials in both juvenile and adult courts and continued over twenty years in private practice representing a wide variety of personal injury plaintiffs in cases involving automobile accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, mass torts, slip and fall accidents, hurricane claims, and admiralty injury cases. He has also handled civil and criminal defense matters. He brings twenty-four years of experience as a litigator to MMK, armed with intimate knowledge of how to deconstruct a plaintiff’s case and expose weaknesses, having represented their interests for the bulk of his career.
Matt was born and raised in New Orleans. He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University. He earned his JD from Tulane University Law School with a certification in Admiralty Law. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
Matt is married to his wife, Keflyn and they have twin sons, Will and Jackson. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, his somewhat-regular poker group, and watching Saints and LSU football.
