Melchiode Marks King is proud to be one of the earliest members of LIFT (Lawyer Initiatives For Tomorrow), a coalition of New Orleans law firms organized early in the Covid-19 pandemic to address cultural and economic challenges in our community. During the critical stages of the pandemic, LIFT raised over $150,000 to for the Krewe of Red Beans Feed the Frontline NOLA project, which provided thousands of meals to healthcare workers in local hospitals while keeping restaurants in business and employing out-of-work musicians as delivery persons. Last year, LIFT joined with the NOLA Coalition, a group raising millions to confront crime and quality of life issues by aiding the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and youth support services. This Carnival season, MMK and LIFT have donated to the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation’s Adopt-a-Cop program, which provides hot meals, healthy snacks and beverages for NOPD officers working long days and nights to keep our city and its parade routes safe and fun for all of us. MMK is happy to support “our Krewe in Blue” and grateful for their service. Happy Mardi Gras!
